Dual Pro battery chargers come in a variety of models. Most are waterproof, some are multi-bank output, most have mounting flanges, all are available with a true gel profile microprocessor, and all are designed for long term service and built in the USA. Applications for these chargers vary from single starting battery systems, to multi-battery systems, where some of the batteries are deeply discharged routinely, as in a trolling motor system in a tournament fishing boat, industrial applications, and of course, golf carts. The Dual Pro marine units are fully potted inside, and are waterproof, vibration proof, and mountable. They feature LED readouts to indicate charge status, temperature compensation for accurate battery charging, ignition protection, and a three year warranty. All Dual Pro chargers except the Lil Pro models shut off after completion of the charge cycle, and the microprocessor monitors the battery, initiating a new charge cycle if the battery voltage requires it. Some battery engineers choose this charge method to minimize fluid loss in flooded batteries.
The Lil Pro series are 4 amp per bank marine chargers, available in single, dual, and three bank models, and are the only models that end in a float mode. The XL series are 6 amp per bank marine chargers, available in single and dual bank models. The Sportsman series marine chargers are 10 amps per bank, and available in single bank, dual bank, three bank, and four bank models. The Pro series marine battery chargers are 15 amps per bank, and available in single, dual, and three bank models. All these units have independent 12 volt outputs, meaning a separate positive and negative connection for each bank, and a microprocessor for each bank. This allows batteries of differing type, size, and state of charge to be connected to the same battery charger. So, a three bank charger can be used for a single 12 volt starting battery, and two other 12 volt batteries in series for a 24 volt trolling motor. How the batteries are wired (i.e. series in this 24 volt situation) is not a concern for the Dual Pro charger, after each battery gets its own positive and negative connection. This attribute can be used to solve a battery charging problem involving higher voltages like 24 or 36 volts, where one of the 12 volt batteries in the string is tapped at 12 volts for lights, radio, etc., resulting in an imbalance. Using a 24 volt or 36 volt output charger in this case, results in improper battery charging, and shortened battery life. This problem is solved by using an independent output multi-bank charger.
The Eagle line is an industrial type, heavy duty, microprocessor controlled, temperature compensating, thermally protected charger, encased in a powder coated aluminum case. They can be portable or bench top chargers, with a padded handle. They are available with alligator clips, or an Anderson connector of the appropriate size and color.
The Eagle series combine the reliability of a heavy duty transformer, with a microprocessor controller, for long term performance and proper battery management. With temperature compensation and computer control, a quicker, more efficient charge cycle results in complete battery charge, better battery life, and less water loss in flooded batteries. They are safe for the sealed lead acid batteries as well. Eagle chargers, like any Dual Pro charger, turns off completely when the charge is finished, and reactivates the charge sequence if battery voltage drops to the factory preset level. The LED array on the charger case indicates status of the battery.
The Eagle series are made in the US, and feature a 3 year warranty. They are suitable for medium to heavy use in 24, 36, and 48 volt systems, including floor scrubbers, golt carts, cargo carts, scissor lifts, and other industrial equipment.
Dual Pro also makes marine type units called ProXtra (I, II, III) that are charge-on-the-run, that is, they take engine alternator output when available, and pass some current to auxilliary batteries like trolling motor batteries, to give more run time on the water. Some of these units are available combined with the AC input charger function as well, for battery maintenance on and off the water (Xtreme series).
So, take a look at our chargers, and call our tech line if you have any questions. We only carry quality, reliable products that will do the job if properly selected.
