Dual Pro Charger Pro2 Marine Battery Charger

The Dual Pro Charger Pro2 marine battery charger is a dual 12 volt output, 15 amp per bank, temperature compensating battery charger. The Pro series chargers are fully waterproof, and potted for vibration resistance. They feature powder coated aluminum bases suitable for salt water environments. They can be built as a portable charger, which includes a handle and alligator clips. The independent output battery chargers have separate positive and negative connections for each bank, and a separate charge algorithm microprocessor for each bank. Therefore, the connected batteries may be of differing age, size, charge level, or type (sealed, flooded). This is beneficial in marine applications with a trolling motor battery and a starting battery. It also is suitable for a 24 volt series strings of two 12 volt batteries. The charger does not care how the batteries are wired, series or parallel, after each battery has its own positive and negative connection. This is applicable in situations like 24 volt systems where one of the 12 volt batteries in the string is used for 12 volt loads (like radios, electronics, etc.), where the batteries end up imbalanced. A straight 24 volt output charger used in this situation would see the combined voltage, and overcharge the battery that was not used for the 12 volt load.

The Pro Charger Pro2 two output 15 amp battery charger is appropriate for 12 and 24 volt applications where wet or harsh environments are usual, or where 30 amps total output is desired. They have flanges for easy mounting, and are water, vibration, and temperature safe. They will handle flooded and AGM batteries, mixed and matched, and can be ordered with true gel battery specific microprocessors. They can be used in marine applications with a starting battery and a trolling motor battery, or two 12 volt batteries in parallel, or two 12 volt batteries in series for a 24 volt trolling motor. The Pro series 15 amp marine battery charger series is preferred by tournament fishermen, as the amp rate is sufficient for a reasonably quick recharge in an afternoon or evening. They are well built chargers, which can be mounted and hard wired in severe duty applications. They are also a US built product, which is uncommon these days. Each output must be connected to a battery (can be the same battery for increased amperage)) for the charger to operate. This is a safety feature.

The Dual Pro charger line is designed to completely shut off at the end of a charge cycle, and simply monitor battery voltage, initiating another charge sequence if battery voltage requires it. This is one of the methods battery engineers prefer for lead acid battery charging to decrease water/electrolyte loss.
